Sayer Mansfield

Sayer is a movement artist, choreographer, and teacher who believes that dancing and movement — in any body, at any stage — is one of the most true and joyful paths into yourself.

She brings over 18 years of teaching experience to her classes, drawing dancers and non-dancers of all ages into spaces where barriers dissolve, a sense of belonging deepens, and people leave feeling at once energized and at ease — brighter in body and spirit.

Her performance work spans a decade touring internationally with Compagnie Marie Chouinard and Pilobolus Dance Theater, and extends to The Metropolitan Opera, Mark Morris Dance Group, and screen appearances in Little Women, Maestro, and Sproutland.

Her training includes a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, studies at Trinity Laban (UK) and Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, and a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification. She has served as faculty at Jacob's Pillow, Harvard, Yale, and Phillips Academy Andover, and brought her classes, workshops, and retreats to movement spaces across LA, Montreal, NYC, and the Hudson Valley.

She is the creator of INNERSTANDING, a movement practice and language for embodied living and brighter being.

Sayer is based between the Hudson Valley and New York City — spending time outside, and in the studio, as much as possible.
